HELICO is a configuration of bespoke 3D-Printed tiles produced for exhibition in London. This design explores the possibilities of large scale 3D-Printing for application as interior architectural surface. The design exploits the simplicity of a modular system whilst utilising a unique level of variation enabled by additive manufacturing.
The forms interpret helical forces into an ornate, single patterned surface, with varied depths and transitions. This approach maximises the effect of surface relief, extending beyond proportions typically seen in natural stone tiles, cladding or facings.
