STELA is a standing-stone designed as the next exploration into architectural scale 3D-Printing. The design presents a novel but distinctly architectural composition, with references to historic organisations of ornament and digital primitive forms. Standing also for a larger ambition – to reach architectural scales and disrupt the notion of 3D-printing as a prototype or model-scale activity.

The detail, formal-proportions and surface complexity transition vertically through three key logics, expressing an aesthetic depth and monumental impression. Originally produced for Voxeljet as a touring showpiece for New York.
